SPECIAL EMERGENCY INSTRUCTIONS

  The doctors and staff at Veterinary Surgical Specialists are here to assist you through the post operative recovery period.

  Our specially trained technicians are available, 24 hours a day, to assist you with any concerns you may have. They may be reached by calling (858) 560-8006. If our office is closed for the day, you will be transferred to our automated voice mail system to leave a general or emergency message. A technician will be paged and your call will be returned. If for some reason you are not able to reach us, and you believe your pet has a condition that requires immediate assistance, please contact the nearest emergency clinic for your pet. Life threatening conditions can occur very quickly and can result in injury or the loss of your pet. If your pet is behaving in an unusual manner, please do not hesitate to call us or an emergency hospital to get answers to your questions or concerns.

  If your pet is experiencing any of the following symptoms you should contact or go to the nearest emergency hospital as soon as possible:

• Difficulty breathing or breathing faster than normal
• Lethargic or depressed
• Vomiting
• Bloody Diarrhea
• Bloody urine or unable to urinate
• High Fever (Over 103 F)
• Removes Bandage
• Removes Sutures
• Ingests a Fentanyl Patch
• Not eating or drinking for more than 24 hours
